John Tait founded Whalsay Fish Processors over 30 years ago. Having had
experience as a salmon farmer he returned to the company and heads up
the management team. John’s management expertise and ability has
enabled the company to be where it is now and proves to be the steady
hand on the tiller.

Alasdair
MacPherson
The composer of the sales team, Alasdair offers a wealth of industry
experience to the group. Post completing his degree in Business Studies
at Robert Gordon University, Alasdair obtained a graduate placement with
Shetland SeaFish during the company’s inception. Through radical
company changes, Alasdair has prevailed and can now be considered one
of our longest standing employees.

to the sales team. With previous jobs ranging from local whitefish auctioneer
to salmon processing operative, it is an understatement to say that Robert’s
contribution to the company stretches far and wide.

gaining a masters degree in Aquaculture at the University Of Stirling,
Irene developed her practical skills in the field of Fish Farming. Her
practical knowledge proves invaluable to the sales force by providing
guidance which allows us to at least pretend to sound like we know what
we are talking about.
